The Cleveland Fraternity annual
retreat is the time we renew our commitment. There are ten lay
people (plus Fr. Jim) making up our community right now and the
pictures show some family that joined us on Sunday for Mass. The priest who led the retreat
is a friend of Fr. Jim's who most of us met for the first time, Fr. Keith Hosey. From him we learned about
Virginia Cyr a young Indiana
women who died in 1967 at age 24 from Cerebral Palsy. Parts of her
journal are in her book: Virginia Cyr: God's Little Hobo by Virginia
Cyr; edited by Quentin Colgan, Ph.D. (2004, Our
Sunday Visitor Publishing). Her story is very much one of struggle in
emptiness to live the spirituality of Brother Charles.
